Forum Health Beeghly Oaks Answers Katrina Call

Boardman Staff members of Forum Health Beeghly Oaks nursing home facility just put a very big check in the mail.

The nursing homes staff conducted fundraisers throughout the month of September, in an effort to collect money for victims of Hurricane Katrina. They raised more than $1400, which was sent to the American Health Care Association in the early part of October.

Beeghly Oaks is affiliated with the Ohio Health Care Association, which is a state branch of the American Health Care Association in Washington, D.C.

“Were so excited to have raised this money that will benefit nursing home residents and their family members, as well as nursing home staff members who lost so much,” said Stephanie Peterson, Administrator of Beeghly Oaks.

The staff members and employees at Beeghly Oaks took part in events such as bake sales, raffles and a Chinese Auction for which each department made a themed basket.
“We even held NFL Fridays, encouraging staff members to wear their favorite NFL jersey instead of a uniform top, for a one-dollar donation,” said Peterson.

The employees were eager to participate in the fundraising events.

“Everyone was thrilled to be doing their part to help,” Peterson said.

Beeghly Oaks is a rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility located on the Forum Health Beeghly Medical Park campus in Boardman.
