Trumbull Memorial Hospital anticipates arrival of skywalk for new Regional Radiation Oncology Center
(Warren, OH October 14, 2005) Trumbull Memorial Hospital eagerly looks forward to the arrival of the skywalk that will be part of the new Regional Radiation Oncology Center now under construction.
Manufactured by Continental Bridge, the 142-foot structure will travel from Minnesota to Warren and be delivered in three separate sections. The first or north section of the bridge is scheduled to arrive on Monday, October 17. The remaining sections will be delivered two days later on Wednesday, October 19.
This unique architectural feature, coined the gateway to Warren, will span East Market Street connecting the third floor of the standalone oncology center with the hospitals second floor. The skywalk will provide easy access between the hospital and the treatment center for patients and staff. The actual installation of the bridge is planned for Saturday, October 29.
The Regional Radiation Oncology Center is one of several major projects for a $17 million expansion at Trumbull Memorial Hospital that is part of The Forum Promisethe $102 million, five-year master facility plan for Forum Health. The Forum Promise represents and supports the organizations commitment to meet the communitys current and future health care needs by providing modern facilities, leading edge technology, and an advanced level of care, as well as enhance patient access and convenience.
The Forum Promise at Trumbull Memorial Hospital responds directly to the existing and emerging needs of Trumbull County communities. With a higher than national average incidence rate in breast, colon, prostate and lung cancer, the new Regional Radiation Oncology Center will address the needs of Trumbull County patients with cancer and blood disorders. The facility will provide better access to care and the advanced treatment as that found at major cancer care centers across the country. The center includes a dedicated CT simulator and an advanced linear accelerator for treatment to deliver the highest level of care that our patients and physicians expect. New equipment, coupled with a convenient location and parking for patients, enhances our services that are comprehensive, compassionate and close to home.
