Walk To Remember at Beeghly Medical Park
(September 22, 2006 - Youngstown, Ohio) Forum Health will hold the 19th annual "Walk to Remember" on Saturday, October 7, 2006 from 10:30 a.m. to Noon at Beeghly Medical Park, 6505 Market Street, Boardman.
Walk To Remember, first held in Chicago on September 26, 1986 at Fifth National Perinatal Bereavement Conference, is dedicated to the babies who died through miscarriage, stillbirth, ectopic pregnancy, prematurity or newborn death. The walk, now held in October during National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, symbolically joins parents, health professionals and friends nationwide to raise awareness of perinatal grief and to ensure that sensitive care is given to parents who experience the death of a baby.
Anyone wishing to participate in Walk To Remember should meet in the Community Room of Building C at Beeghly Medical Park by 10:15 a.m. At that time, participants will register and will be able to write their babies’ names on balloons, as well as messages. The program begins at 10:30 a.m. on an open lawn of the campus along with a balloon release. Crocus bulbs will be planted in the flower bed of the Women and Infant’s Pavilion.
