Reviewed by Health Coach Carli Webb, MS

One of our favorite warming fall drinks is turmeric golden milk! Golden milk is a traditional Ayurvedic drink and is nourishing, creamy and delicious. Curcumin, the active component in turmeric, has medicinal properties and has been extensively studied; consuming turmeric may help reduce joint pain, arthritis, liver stagnation, inflammation, depression, and more.

Bring this amazing spice into your life by consuming golden milk throughout the cooler months!

Turmeric Golden Milk

  • 1 inch piece turmeric, grated, or 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • Tiny piece fresh ginger root or ¼ teaspoon ginger powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon raw honey or maple syrup (use monkfruit for a keto version)
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon coconut oil or ghee (boosts healthy fat content)
  • Optional flavor add ins: ¼ teaspoon nutmeg, sprinkle freshly ground black pepper (increases turmeric’s absorption), sprinkle of cardamom

Method

Blend all ingredients in a blender until frothy and well mixed.

Pour into small saucepan and heat until hot but not boiling, about 4-5 minutes, stirring frequently. Enjoy warm, with an optional sprinkle of spices of choice on top!
